Mission Statement

Bound In Boston's mission is to provide opportunities for having kinky fun with rope bondage. That's it, really. If we're not having fun, what's the point?

OK - a little more about having fun, and what that means to us:

  • It's fun to be in community with people who share things in common. Bound In Boston brings together people who are creative, interesting, and kinky - what could be more fun than that? We seek to expand our community by inviting and welcoming new-comers, because that means we'll have more people to have fun with!
  • It's fun to learn new things. We gather together to share skills and ideas, but our community is more than just rope and knots: it's people with valuable experiences and insights about the role of rope bondage in our lives.
  • The topic of safety doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but if we want to keep having fun with rope, we'd better know how to do it without damaging one another. What's taught at Bound In Boston is always presented with an eye towards safety and making participants aware of the inherent risks and dangers of rope bondage.
  • For a lot of people, it's fun to teach, so we try our best to provide opportunties for those who wish to share their knowledge with others. Bound In Boston is a great place for instructors to try out new techniques and ways of presenting their material.

This Bound In Boston website serves members of the bdsm rope bondage kink and fetish communities in the Boston, Massachusetts area. It is particularly of interest to people who are interested in Shibari or Kinbaku. These are the origins of the Japanese-styled rope bondage techniques that we learn about and practice. Very often people in the kink and fetish communities are interested in rope bondage, having heard the terms Shibari and Kinbaku, but are uneducated in their origins and use. While we are not technically teaching the pure rope bondage forms of Shibari or Kinbaku, we base our teachings on those artforms. Our workshops are in the Boston, Massachusetts area. Hemp, jute - different types of rope are used.

There's nothing down here.
